Follow up on make debug error

after running
$ make clean
$ make debug
builds the library correctly (with very few warnings produced by -wall) and
$ admb/admb -g simple.tpl
correctly builds the example with debugging symbols that function with ddd

$ uname -a
Linux kihikihi 3.2.0-57-generic #87-Ubuntu SMP Tue Nov 12 21:35:10 UTC 
2013 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

Perhaps a note in the quickstart about building the debug libraries in a 
clean directory would be useful?
