Does anybody have any wisdom to share about -lprof. I'm having trouble
getting it to run to completion. It computes the Hessian and its inverse
then does a bunch of function evaluations as expected. It then prints
-nan and quits. There are complaints about the Hessian may not be
positive definite, but the .std files is produced. I've tried fiddling
with step number and step size without any joy. And it works fine in a
modified simple.tpl.

Thanks,
John
