There was some discussion about svd at the recent meeting. I have 
attached a file showing an example
of how to interface with lapack to caclulate the svd for a dmatrix and 
then use an appropriate
version of solve to replace the admb solve.  This uses the lapacke C 
wrappers found in the latest
code at
