John,
Usually I am not using admb command prompt window, I am using emacs.
following is the last part of output when I run make under the admb command
prompt window this morning, I think it is the same as  in your link

ECHO is off.
Completed ADMB example and runs
Successful
ECHO is off.
By the way, it take long time to run through it, the first time when I run
the make, after I see it output the estimation values, I just kill the
window.
