Every couple of months this comes up.  The problem (besides the fact
that NLS is a piece of junk) is that the model is not parameterized 
correctly.

I have pointed this out to Ben, but he is off convincing people not to use
obviously stupid methods in regression.

Maybe we could put together web pages to do various trivial models
like this so that one could simply tell these poor R victims to paste a 
little data
into a form and they would get the answer back.
